Our Story So Far…
The Manti Telephone Company was formed in May of 1907 by a group of businessmen who saw the potential in bringing telephone service to the area. This group included P.P. Later that year, Sam W. Chapman was hired as head of construction with Lillian Hornung and Helen Jorgensen as operators. With a few personnel changes over the years, this group ran the company until 1950, when brothers Grant and Morlin Cox purchased it.
Morlin then purchased controlling interest from his brother in the 1970s and kept the company going until he passed the reins on to his son, Paul Cox, in the late 1990s. Since then, the company continued to grow, and Manti Telecommunications Company was formed to provide Internet and TV services to the area. In 2015, Paul officially retired and turned the company over to his children, with Dallas Cox as CEO.
In 2023, the decision was made to sell the company and merge with CentraCom, formerly Central Utah Telephone, based in Fairview.
